The Ministry of Transport and Logistic Services (), formerly the Ministry of Transport (MoT; ) is a government ministry in Saudi Arabia responsible for all aspects of transport, including roads, railways, and ports. Established in 1953, the current minister is Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, who was appointed on 23 October 2019. History In 1953 the ministry was established under the name of the Ministry of Transportation with a task regards supervising the transport aspects. In 1975 the tasks associated with the ministry were extended to including planning, designing, constructing, and maintaining the roads and the bridges. In 2003 the name of the ministry was amended to the Ministry of Transport. The Saudi Council of Ministers ( ar, مجلس الوزراء السعودي ''Majlis al-Wuzarā' as-Su‘ūdī'') is the cabinet of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is led by the King. The council consists of the king, the Crown Prince, and cabinet ministers. The Crown Prince is also Prime Minister and Chair of the Council of Ministers. Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser is Saudi Arabia's Minister of transport, appointed by a royal decree on 23 October 2019. Education and Career Al-Jasser holds a bachelor's degree from King Abdul Aziz University in Jeddah in industrial engineering. He also obtained both a master's degree and MBA from King Saud University in Riyadh. Al-Jasser served as the director-general of Saudi Arabian Airlines from August 2014 to October 2019. He also was Chief Executive Officer of National Shipping Co of Saudi Arabia from November 2010 to June 2014.
