The Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Croatia ( or MUP RH) is the ministry in the Government of Croatia which is in charge of state security among other roles. Ranko Ostojić
Ranko Ostojić (; born 3 October 1962) is a Croatian lawyer and centre-left politician who served as the 11th Interior Minister in the Cabinet of Zoran Milanović from December 2011 to January 2016. Ostojić graduated from the Split Faculty of Law in 1988. He held various positions in Split-based companies, and became involved in politics in 1990 when he joined SDP. Between 2001 and 2004 he served as assistant to Interior Minister Šime Lučin during Prime Minister Ivica Račan's government and held the post of Director of Police. Before becoming government minister he served one term as MP in the 6th Sabor from 2007 to 2011 where he chaired the parliamentary committee for internal affairs and national security. Tomislav Karamarko
Tomislav Karamarko (; born 25 May 1959) is a Croatian politician who served as First Deputy Prime Minister of Croatia from January to June 2016. He served in the Cabinet of Jadranka Kosor as Minister of the Interior from 2008 to 2011. Early life Karamarko was born in Zadar, People's Republic of Croatia, Yugoslavia, in a Croatian family. His father was one of the survivors of the Bleiburg repatriations. He attended elementary school at Kruševo near Obrovac, then moved with his family to Zagreb where he finished high school. During his education in high school, Karamarko played guitar and performed in Students' Home, where other popular bands also held concerts, among which Azra, Film, Idoli and others. Berislav Rončević
Berislav Rončević (born 23 June 1960) is a Croatian politician, and the former Minister of Internal Affairs in the government of Croatia and the Minister of Defense. Rončević was born in the village of Borovik near Đakovo. He graduated from the Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb in 1985. Rončević has been a member of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) since 1990. He began his political career in the party in the town of Našice, and afterwards within the Osijek-Baranja County. He was assistant to the mayor, and later mayor of Našice himself. He has been a representative in the Parliament of Croatia since 2000. After parliamentary elections in 2003 he took on the portfolio of defence minister. Ivica Kirin () (born 14 June 1970) is a Croatian politician who was the interior minister of Croatia from 2005 to 2008. He resigned as interior minister on 29 December 2007 after being pictured with Mladen Markač on a boar hunt. Markač was on parole from the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia and was not permitted to leave his house as a condition of his parole. Kirin, as interior minister, was responsible for ensuring Markač fulfilled his parole conditions. Career Kirin received his degree in Geotechnical engineering from the Geotechnical Engineering Faculty in Varaždin in 1994. He went on to work for a geotechnical engineering firm the following year.
