The Ministry of Finance of the Government of the Puntland (; ) is the government body responsible for regulating the fiscal affairs of the Government of Puntland, including managing, controlling and monitoring public revenues and expenditures. The first minister was Said Mohamed Mohamoud 'Adur' and current minister is Mohamed Farah Mohamoud. Establishment The Puntland Ministry of Finance was established on 23 August 1998, as one of the first Ten Ministries following the establishment of the Puntland government. The Ministry is to regulate the Public and Private Financial Management of the Government and to ensure the functional fluency of the state's official currency. The Ministry also prepares the Government’s economic and financial policy, as well as the Budget, and acts as a tax policy expert. The Government of Puntland () () is the supreme governing authority of the autonomous region of Puntland State of Somalia. The legal structure of Puntland consists of the judiciary (Supreme Court), legislative (House of Representatives) and the executive (the President, Vice president and his nominated council of Ministries) branches of government. Puntland has conducted Seven presidential elections (1998, 2001, 2005, 2009, 2014, 2019, 2024). Five Presidents are elected by a 66-member unicameral parliament. Puntland (), (), (), officially the Puntland State of Somalia ( Somali: ''Dowladda Buntilaan ee Soomaaliya)'', Arabic: ولاية أرض البنط الصومالية), is a Federal Member State in northeastern Somalia. Abdirahman Farole
Abdirahman Mohamed Mohamoud Farole (; ; born 1945) is a Somali politician. He served for many years in the government, acting as a governor of the Nugal region of Somalia in the 1990s and later as the Minister of Finance of the autonomous Puntland region in the northeast. Mohamed Ali Yusuf Gaagaab (; 2January 19443December 2024, ) was a Somali politician. He served as acting Vice President of Puntland from 10October 2004 to 8January 2005, and later he was appointed Minister of Finance of Puntland beginning on 25January 2005 to 29January 2009. He was elected as Interim Speaker of the Senate of Somalia from 11August 2021 to 26April 2022. Shire Haji Farah Yusuf (, ; born January 5, 1950) is a Somali entrepreneur, and former Puntland Minister of Planning and International Relations.
