The Ministry of Education and Sports () is a department of the Albanian Government responsible for Education and Sport. The current minister is Ogerta Manastirliu. History Since the establishment of the institution, the Ministry of Education has been reorganized by joining other departments or merging with other ministries, thus making its name change several times. Albania ( ; or ), officially the Republic of Albania (), is a country in Southeast Europe. Ernest Koliqi
Ernest Koliqi (20 May 190315 January 1975) was an Albanian journalist, pro-Axis politician, translator, teacher and writer. Biography Born to a Catholic Albanian family in Shkodra, where he also attended his first lessons at the local Jesuit College. In 1918 his father send him to study in the jesuit directed "Cesare Arici" college, in Brescia; and afterwards in Bergamo. Then at the University of Padua, and became knowledgeable in Albanian folk history. He began to write under pseudonyms, such as Hilushi, Hilush Vilza and Borizani. In the 1920s and 1930s Koliqi was the founder of leading magazines in Albania, such as the ''Illyria'' magazine, and others, which covered geography and culture in the country. Kastriot Muhamet Islami (born 18 August 1952) is an Albanian politician. Formerly a member of the Communist Party of Albania, turned moderate Socialist. He was Chairman of the Parliament of Albania from April 17, 1991 to April 6, 1992. On April 3, 1992, when the last communist president, Ramiz Alia resigned, Islami served as acting president for three days. Skënder Gjinushi (born 24 December 1949 in Vlorë, Albania) is an Albanian politician and academic. He has served in several high-ranking positions in the Albanian government, including as Speaker of Parliament and Deputy Prime Minister. Thoma Deliana (1925–2014) was an Albanian politician of the Communist Albania period, being the longest serving Minister of Education (1963-1976) in overall. Life Deliana was born in 1925 in on Orthodox family of the Kala neighborhood of Elbasan in central Albania. Manush Myftiu (16 January 1919 – 20 October 1997) was an Albanian politician during the country's socialist period. He served in a number of positions, most recently as the deputy prime minister. Bedri Spahiu (July 13, 1908 – 11 January 1998) was an Albanian politician and Lieutenant-General and one of the most prominent figures of the Albanian Labour Party up to 1956. Life Born into a Muslim, Albanian family in Gjirokastër, Spahiu completed his education in 1923 in Shkodër, and then continued his further education at a school run by Italians in Istanbul.
