Ministry Of Defence (Kenya)
The Ministry of Defence (MoD) of Kenya is a cabinet-level office in charge of defense-related matters of Kenya. It oversees the Kenya Defence Forces. It is currently headed by Her Excellency Soipan Tuya. History During the Shifta War, a centralized high command was established, however the Ministry of Defence was mostly dormant with the service commanders under the direct operational control of the president. From 1979-2000, Ministry of Defence was renamed to the Department of Defence (DoD), placed under the Office of the President Daniel arap Moi and led by the Deputy Secretary. Ministry Of Environment And Forestry (Kenya)
The Ministry of Forestry () is the cabinet-level, government ministry in the Republic of Indonesia responsible for managing and conserving that nation's forests. The current Minister of Forestry is Raja Juli Antoni. History From 1983 to 1998, this institution was called the Department of Forestry, then changed to the Department of Forestry and Plantations for one year. The name Department of Forestry was used again until 2005, then changed to the Ministry of Forestry until 2014. In 2014, the name changed to the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, before returning to the Ministry of Forestry in 2024 until now. National Land Commission
The National Land Commission of Kenya is an independent government commission whose establishment was provided for by the Constitution of Kenya to, amongst other things, manage public land on behalf of the national and county governments, initiate investigations into present or historical land injustices and recommend appropriate redress, and monitor and have oversight responsibilities over land use planning throughout the country. NLC was officially established under The National Land Commission Act of 2012. Alice Wahome
Alice Muthoni Wahome (born Alice Muthoni; April 28, 1959) is a Kenyan politician. She served as cabinet secretary for Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development. Wahome was the elected as Member of Parliament for the Kandara Constituency in the March 2013 general elections and successfully defended her seat in 2017 and 2022 prior to resigning her seat to join cabinet. Wahome is a member of UDA. She was later dismissed as a cabinet secretary in July 2024. Education and career Wahome attended Karumu primary school and Siakago high school for her secondary studies. From 1980 to 1984, she attended the University of Nairobi, where she earned a bachelor's degree in law. She then earned a post-graduate diploma in law from Kenya School of Law in 1985 making her a lawyer by profession. Kenya Railways Corporation
Kenya Railways Corporation (KRC), also Kenya Railways (KR) is the national railway of Kenya. Established in 1977, KR is a state corporation. History The original Uganda Railway was transformed into the East African Railways and Harbours Corporation (EAR&H) after World War I. The EAR&H managed the railways of Uganda, Kenya, and Tanganyika (1961–1964), Tanganyika until the collapse of the East African Community in 1977. KR then took over the Kenyan part of the EARC. Operations Like the other members of the East African Community, Kenya uses the narrow gauge railway, narrow gauge Rail gauge, track gauge of (Metre gauge railway, metre gauge). Kenya Ports Authority
Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) is a state corporation with the responsibility to "maintain, operate, improve and regulate all scheduled seaports" on the Indian Ocean coastline of Kenya, including principally Kilindini Harbour at Mombasa. Julius Migos Ogamba born (1967) is the Cabinet Secretary for Education in Kenya. He assumed office on 8 August 2024 after appointment by President William Ruto.
