The Council of Ministers is an Algerian government body established by the Algerian Constitution to discuss and adopt some of the main acts of executive power, such as the tabling of government bills or the appointment of senior officials. It is chaired by the President of the Republic and brings together the Prime Minister, all full-service ministers and, depending on the government, all or some of the lower-ranking ministers. Only a very summary report of the meetings being published, it is also supposed to allow the ministers to freely discuss the policy of the Government. Ahmed Taleb Ibrahimi
Dr. Ahmed Taleb Ibrahimi ( ar, أحمد طالب الإبراهيمي) (born 5 January 1932) is an Algerian politician and intellectual. He is the son of Islamic theologian and renowned scholar Bachir Ibrahimi, and served in multiple ministerial roles in Algeria from the 1960s until the late 1980s. A staunch anti-colonialist and proponent of Arab heritage through his writings and his actions, Dr. Ibrahimi was jailed by the French authorities as a militant of the FLN Party. He ran for president in 1999 but withdrew from the race along with all other opposition candidates hours before voting commenced, claiming electoral fraud by the army. In 2004, his proposed candidacy was disqualified because of alleged links with the proscribed Islamic Salvation Front (FIS). Abdelaziz Belkhadem (; ar, عبد العزيز بلخادم; born 8 November 1945) is an Algerian politician who was Prime Minister of Algeria from 2006 to 2008. Youcef Yousfi ( ar, يوسف اليوسفي) (born 2 October 1941) is an Algerian politician who has been Minister of Energy and Mines between 2010 and 2015. Mohamed Salah Dembri ( ar, محمد صالح دمبري; 30 January 1938 – 2 January 2020) was an Algerian politician. He was Minister of Foreign Affairs of Algeria from 1993 to 1996. Sid Ahmed Ghozali ( ar, سيد أحمد غزالي) (born 31 March 1937 in Maghnia, Algeria) is an Algerian politician who was the Prime Minister of Algeria from 1991 to 1992.
