Minister For Home Affairs (Sweden)
The Minister of the Interior () was a cabinet minister within the Swedish government and appointed by the Prime Minister of Sweden. From 1947 to 1974 and from 1996 to 1998, the minister headed the Ministry of the Interior. It was reintroduced as a minister without portfolio post under name of Minister for Home Affairs in 2014. The Ministry of the Interior (, In) was a ministry in Sweden established in 1947. The department dealt with matters concerning general health and medical care, the police service, the fire service, and the local government. The ministry was headed by the minister of the interior. At the end of 1973, the Ministry of the Interior ceased to exist and the activities were taken over by other ministries, such as the Ministry of Employment and the Ministry of Housing. In 1996, the former Ministry for Civil Service Affairs changed its name to the Ministry of the Interior and was called that until 1998, when the ministry ceased. Lars Mikael Damberg ( born 13 October 1971) is a Swedish politician of the Social Democratic Party. He served as Minister for Finance from 2021 to 2022. He previously served as Minister for Enterprise from October 2014 to January 2019 and as minister for home affairs from January 2019 to November 2021. Lars Engqvist (born 13 August 1945) is a Swedish politician. He served as chairman of the youth organization of the Swedish Social Democrats from 1972 to 1978, and then worked as a journalist. He was the editor-in-chief of '' Arbetet'', a Malmö-based newspaper. In the early 1990s, he was the mayor of Malmö, and then president of the Swedish Film Institute before receiving his first government appointment in 1998.
