Minister For Finance (Western Australia)
Minister for Finance is a position in the government of Western Australia, currently held by Sue Ellery of the Labor Party. The position was first created in 1993, for the government of Richard Court. It was abolished in 1999, but revived in 2010 for the government of Colin Barnett. The minister is responsible for the state government's Department of Finance. Dean Nalder
Dean Cambell Nalder (born 5 February 1966) is an Australian former politician who was a member of the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia for the Liberal Party from 2013 to 2021, representing the seat of Alfred Cove until 2017, and Bateman following the 2017 electoral boundary re-distribution. At various times, he served as Minister for Transport, Minister for Finance and Minister for Agriculture and Food in the ministry of Premier Colin Barnett from 2014 to 2016. Following the Liberals' defeat at the 2017 state election, Nalder served in a number of shadow portfolios in the shadow ministries of Mike Nahan and Liza Harvey until resigning from the frontbench on 8 December 2020, following his announcement of retirement from politics at the next election. David Black (historian)
David William Black, (4 July 1936 – 23 November 2024) was an Australian historian. He lectured and wrote extensively on Australian and Western Australian history, especially political history. He was a professor in history and politics in the School of Social Sciences and Asian Languages at Curtin University of Technology until his retirement in 2002, and was then professor emeritus. He was Chairperson of the Parliamentary History Advisory Committee, and a Parliamentary Fellow (History). He has had numerous publications and considerable media exposure in regard to parliamentary history in Western Australia. Black was appointed Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in the 2010 Australia Day Honours for "service to education and to the social sciences, particularly through the promotion and preservation of the political and parliamentary history of Western Australia". Tony Buti
Antonio De Paulo "Tony" Buti (born 20 August 1961) is an Australian politician. He has been a Labor Party member of the Western Australian Legislative Assembly representing the seat of Armadale since 2 October 2010, when he was elected in a by-election. Buti attended the University of Western Australia and later the Australian National University, where he studied law, receiving his LL.B in 1992. He completed his PhD, which dealt with guardianship law and the Stolen Generations, at Wolfson College, Oxford University in 2003. From 1997, Buti lectured at the School of Law in Murdoch University. He is the author of several books on the removal of Aboriginal children from their families, as well as sports law. Another book he wrote was an overview of the Perth Mint Swindle in 2011. Benjamin Sana Wyatt (born 1 April 1974) is an Australian politician who was the Labor Party member for the seat of Victoria Park in the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia from 2006 to 2021. Born in Wewak, Papua New Guinea, to Australian parents, Wyatt moved to Western Australia at an early age. William Richard Marmion (born 22 May 1954) is an Australian politician who was a member of the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia between 2008 and 2021, representing the seat of Nedlands. Mike Nahan
Michael Dennis Nahan (born 2 July 1950) is an Australian politician who served as the leader of the Western Australian Liberal Party and Leader of the Opposition from the 2017 state election until his resignation in June 2019.
