Mine Train Roller Coaster
A mine train roller coaster is a steel roller coaster whose trains often depict a set of mine carts, with the forward-most car or portions of it sometimes resembling a small steam locomotive. Most mine train roller coasters are themed in the style of a mine, a Western scene, or simply a mountain range. Traditional mine train roller coaster track elements include several banked turns and helices. There are sometimes level straightaway sections, but few large drops. Most include more than one lift hill. Often, a mine train roller coaster will make its way through trees, tunnels, rock formations, and over small bodies of water. Some feature scenes with animatronic figures. The first mine train roller coaster of its kind was Runaway Mine Train (''Run-A-Way Mine Train'' until 1995) at Six Flags Over Texas. Colorado Adventure
Colorado Adventure is a mine train roller coaster located at Phantasialand in Brühl, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. During construction, it was decided to opt for a roller coaster in a Western style rather than a traditional roller coaster. The name Colorado is derived from the Colorado, U.S. state of the same name, well known during the American Old West, ‘Wild West’ period in the USA. The ride has been voted by fans as one of the world’s best examples of the mine roller coaster. Until 2013 its full name was ''Colorado Adventure – The Michael Jackson Thrill Ride''. Branson, Missouri
Branson is a city in the U.S. state of Missouri. Silver Dollar City is a theme park in Stone County, Missouri, near the cities of Branson, Missouri, Branson and Branson West, Missouri, Branson West. Thunderation (Stylized as ThuNderaTion) is a steel mine train roller coaster located at Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri. Manufactured by Arrow Dynamics Arrow Dynamics was an American manufacturing and engineering company that specialized in designing and building amusement park rides, especially roller coasters. Adventure Express is a mine train roller coaster located in the Adventure Port section at Kings Island amusement park in Mason, Ohio. Manufactured by Arrow Dynamics, the roller coaster opened to the public on April 13, 1991. A portion of the ride's design drew inspiration from the ''Indiana Jones'' franchise. Similar to other mine trains, the Adventure Express uses a lap bar restraint and does not feature any roller coaster inversion, inversions. Canada's Wonderland, formerly known as Paramount Canada's Wonderland, is a amusement park located in Vaughan, Ontario, a municipality within the Greater Toronto Area. Thunder Run (Canada's Wonderland)
Thunder Run is a powered roller coaster, themed after a runaway mine train, found at Canada's Wonderland, in Vaughan, Ontario, Canada. Rather than having a traditional chain lift hill, the train has an electric motor on board. The train (consisting of nine cars of two rows of two seats, plus an extra single row at the front of the train) flies directly into the Wonder Mountain, the artificial mountain that is a trademark of the park. The coaster opened on May 23, 1981, and operated until 1985 as Blauer Enzian ("Blue Gentian" in German), but in 1986 it was relocated, extended, and incorporated into the Wonder Mountain.
