On December 3, 2023, an Islamist bombing occurred during a Mass in the Catholic Church, Catholic Mass at the gymnasium of Mindanao State University in Marawi, Philippines, killing four people. In the morning of January 27, 2019, two bombs exploded at the Roman Catholic Cathedral of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Jolo, Sulu, Philippines. Twenty people were killed and 102 others injured.
