Min Jiang-class Minelayer
The Min Jiang-class minelayer is a class of minelayers in service with the Republic of China Navy (ROCN) built by Lung Teh Shipbuilding. Naming The vessels are referred to as the Min Jiang-class by the media. However, the official class designation remains unknown. The first vessel is designated FMLB-I, with FMLB standing for Fast Mine Laying Boat. It is assumed that the other minelayers have a similar designation Design The Min Jiang-class displaces 347 tons at full load, with a maximum speed of 14 knots. Length is 41m, width is 8.8m and draft is 1.7m. The vessels have a precision automatic mine laying system. Lung Teh Shipbuilding
Lungteh Shipbuilding (also spelled Lung Teh or Longde, ) is a Taiwanese ship and boat builder headquartered in Yilan County. History Lungteh was established in 1979. In 2018 Lungteh won a contract to produce eleven Tuo Chiang Block II corvette and four minelayers for the Taiwanese Navy. Lungteh exhibited at IDEX in 2019 alongside other Taiwanese defense companies. In 2019 Lungteh Shipbuilding launched an 80-ton 28m long high speed catamaran research and test vessel named ''Glorious Star'' (光榮之星) for the National Chung-Shan Institute of Science and Technology. On May 24, 2019 Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-Wen visited Lungteh to highlight the mass production of the Tuo Chiang Block II corvette, dubbed a carrier killer by the press. The Republic of China Navy (ROCN; ), also called the ROC Navy and colloquially the Taiwan Navy, is the maritime branch of the Republic of China Armed Forces (ROCAF). A minelayer is any warship, submarine or military aircraft deploying explosive mines. Since World War I the term "minelayer" refers specifically to a naval ship used for deploying naval mines. "Mine planting" was the term for installing controlled mines at predetermined positions in connection with coastal fortifications or harbor approaches that would be detonated by shore control when a ship was fixed as being within the mine's effective range. T-75 Cannon
The M39 cannon is a 20 mm caliber single-barreled revolver cannon developed for the United States Air Force in the late 1940s. It was used on a number of fighter aircraft from the early 1950s through the 1980s. Development The M39 was developed by the Springfield Armory, based on the World War II–era design of the German Mauser MG 213, a 20 mm (and 30 mm) cannon developed for the Luftwaffe, which did not see combat use. Yilan County, Taiwan
Yilan County, alternately spelled I-lan, is a county in northeastern Taiwan, Republic of China. Name The name ''Yilan'' derives from the Taiwanese indigenous peoples, indigenous Kavalan people.
