Mike Robinson (defensive End)
Michael Bruce Robinson (born August 19, 1956 in Cleveland, Ohio) is a former American football defensive end who played for the Cleveland Browns of the National Football League. He attended Glenville High School in Cleveland, Ohio. Robinson played college football at the University of Arizona and Oklahoma State University. He was drafted by Cleveland in the fourth round with the 95th pick in the 1981 NFL Draft. Defensive End
Defensive end (DE) is a defensive position in the sport of gridiron football. This position has designated the players at each end of the defensive line, but changes in formations over the years have substantially changed how the position is played. History Early formations, with six- and seven-man lines, used the end as a containment player, whose job was first to prevent an " end run" around his position, then secondarily to force plays inside. When most teams adopted a five-man line, two different styles of end play developed: "crashing" ends, who rushed into the backfield to disrupt plays, and "stand-up" or "waiting" ends, who played the more traditional containment style. Some teams would use both styles of end play, depending on game situations. Glenville High School is a public high school in the Glenville area on the East Side of Cleveland, Ohio. The school is part of the Cleveland Metropolitan School District. The school originally resided at the former Oliver Wendell Holmes school (then The Doan Building) which formerly sat on the northeast corner of E. 105th and St. Clair then later moved to Parkwood and Everton in October 1904 as population grew.
