Week
A week is a unit of time equal to seven days. It is the standard time period used for short cycles of days in most parts of the world. The days are often used to indicate common work days and rest days, as well as days of worship. Weeks are often mapped against yearly calendars. There are just over 52 weeks in a year. The term "week" may also be used to refer to a sub-section of the week, such as the workweek and weekend. MidWeek
''MidWeek'' is a weekly United States tabloid shopper and advertisement periodical published Wednesday in Honolulu, Hawaii and distributed throughout the Islands of Oahu and Kauai. It is owned by Black Press and is a sister publication of the ''Honolulu Star-Advertiser''. History The shopper started in 1984 to provide advertisers with an alternative way to reach more customers. Publisher Ken Berry helped secure deals with Safeway and Pay ‘n Save to advertise with the fledgling publication. Berry sought out cover stories and columnists that would increase readership. The first issue of ''MidWeek'' was published on July 18, 1984 and featured local newscaster Joe Moore on the cover. The first ''MidWeek'' editor was Cheryl Deep. 1984 to 1987, followed by Vera Benedek, 1987 to 1994, and Don Chapman who joined the newspaper in November 1994. Virgin Media One, also called Virgin One, is an Irish free-to-air television channel owned by Virgin Media Ireland (part of Liberty Global), operated through its subsidiary Virgin Media Television. The channel launched on 20 September 1998, as TV Three, becoming Ireland's fourth television channel and the first commercial channel. Midweek (BBC Radio 4)
''Midweek'' was a British weekly radio magazine series broadcast on BBC Radio 4. It was aired on Wednesday at 09.00 and repeated the same day at 21.00. For most of its run it was presented by Libby Purves and each week several guests discussed various topics with her. '' Start the Week'' and '' Stop the Week'', also broadcast on Radio 4, employed similar formats. The programme ended in March 2017 as part of a schedule change. History The first edition, initially billed in the ''Radio Times'' as ''Mid-week'' (billed as ''Midweek'' from October 1981), was broadcast on Thursday 23 November 1978. The programme moved to Wednesday mornings in October 1979. The original presenter was television documentary maker Desmond Wilcox.
