Midway Station (Minnesota)
Midway (Saint Paul/Minneapolis) is a former Amtrak intercity train station in the Midway, Saint Paul, Midway neighborhood of Saint Paul, Minnesota, United States. It was last served by Amtrak's daily ''Empire Builder'', with service from Chicago, Illinois to Seattle, Washington (state), Washington or Portland, Oregon, Portland, Oregon. When the station opened March 1, 1978, it was also served briefly by the long-distance ''North Coast Hiawatha'' (with service from Chicago to Seattle), and the ''Twin Cities Hiawatha, Hiawatha'' (Chicago to St. Paul) and ''Arrowhead (train), Arrowhead'' (Duluth to St. Paul), the latter combined as the ''North Star (Amtrak train), North Star'' (thru service from Chicago to Duluth) later that year. It was one of the first new stations, designated as a "Type 300A" design, built under the Amtrak Standard Stations Program in 1978. Midway Station (CTA)
Midway is an 'L' station on the CTA's Orange Line. It is the southwestern terminus of the Orange Line and serves Midway International Airport in Chicago, the city's second-largest airport. The turnstiles at the station's entrance are somewhat wider than most to accommodate airport passengers and their luggage. The station, along with the rest of the Orange Line, opened on October 31, 1993 after a long wait by Chicago's southwest side for 'L' access. It is also the closest station to SeatGeek Stadium SeatGeek Stadium is a football-specific stadium, soccer-specific stadium in Bridgeview, Illinois, about 12 miles southwest of downtown Chicago.
