Middlesbrough F.C. Reserves and Academy are the under-23 and under-18 teams of Middlesbrough F.C. Most home fixtures are played at Rockliffe Park, near Hurworth, though some are played at Victoria Park, Hartlepool. Reserves Middlesbrough Reserves (also referred to as the Under-23 Development Squad) play in Division 2 of the Premier League 2, being part of the founding members of the Premier League 2 since 2012. They have also competed in the EFL Trophy during the 2016–17, 2017–18 and 2018–19 seasons alongside 15 other academies that held Category 1 status. Rockliffe Park (Hurworth)
Rockliffe Park near Hurworth, County Durham, is Middlesbrough Football Club's training facility and sports complex. History of Rockliffe Park Early years (1863-1996) In 1863, Arthur Backhouse (a member of the Quaker banking family of Darlington) built Rockliffe Hall, then known as Pilmore Hall. The grounds and hall were then sold off to Lord Southampton and used as a command headquarters during World War II. The estate was then split amongst the family and then sold to the Brothers Hospitallers of St. John of God in 1948. The brothers built St Cuthbert's Hospital, and remained there until the Order moved to nearby Scorton in 1991. Ownership by Middlesbrough F.C. Luke Wilkshire (born 2 October 1981) is an Australian football coach and a former player. Born in Wollongong, Wilkshire played youth football for Albion Park, Wollongong Wolves ,and the Australian Institute of Sport before making his professional debut for English club Middlesbrough.
