Middle Lake (Canada 2016 Census, 2016 population: ) is a village in the Provinces and territories of Canada, Canadian province of Saskatchewan within the Rural Municipality of Three Lakes No. 400 and Division No. 15, Saskatchewan, Census Division No. 15. The village has a public K-12 school, a nursing home, and a regional park. It is adjacent to Lucien Lake and accessed from Saskatchewan Highway 20, Highway 20. The surrounding area is largely agricultural. Middle Lake has multiple volunteer organizations including Three Lakes First Responders, Three Lakes Fire Department, and Lions. Community amenities include a gym, bowling alley, Lucien Lake Regional Park, community hall, senior's centre, skating rink, 4-H, and a music studio. The Holy Cross Wilderness is a U.S. Wilderness Area located in San Isabel and White River national forests near Leadville, Minturn, Avon, Edwards, Eagle, and Vail. The wilderness with of trails was established in 1980. The wilderness was named after its highest peak, Mount of the Holy Cross. Holy Cross Wilderness is an area with many routes. Its neighbor Notch Mountain grants the backpacker or day tripper with a clear view of the "Cross" formed from the Mount of The Holy Cross, that has drawn many a visitor to the site. The Holy Cross Wilderness has a history of many hikers, often those who are unprepared, becoming endangered. Middle Lake is a lake at an elevation of . It is along the main branch of the Clinton River. The deep lake lies within Independence Township in Oakland County, Michigan. Middle Lake connects downstream to Dollar Lake to the south and upstream to Deer Lake to the north. Cemetery Lakeview Cemetery sits on the western shore of Middle Lake. Nicollet County ( ) is a county in the U.S. state of Minnesota. As of the 2020 census, the population was 34,454. Its county seat is St. Peter. Nicollet County is part of the Mankato – North Mankato Metropolitan Statistical Area. History In 1849 the Minnesota Territory legislature defined the boundaries of nine future counties. One of those, Dakota, contained the area north of the Minnesota River where it altered its flow from southeast to northeast. In 1853 the first settler had homesteaded an area on the northeast run of the river, and the following year the settlement of Saint Peter was platted there. Seeing the inflow of settlers into the areas adjoining the river, on March 5, 1853, the territorial legislature partitioned off the lower portion of Dakota County to form a separate entity.
