Mid Dorset and North Poole is a constituency represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament since 2024 by Vikki Slade, a Liberal Democrat. Boundaries 1997–2010: * The District of Purbeck wards of Bere Regis, Lytchett Matravers, Lytchett Minster, St Martin, and Wareham; * The District of East Dorset wards of Corfe Mullen Central, Corfe Mullen North, and Corfe Mullen South; and * The Borough of Poole wards of Alderney, Broadstone, Canford Heath, Canford Magna, and Creekmoor. Vikki Slade
Vikki Slade (born 17 December 1972) is a British Liberal Democrat politician who has served as the Member of Parliament for Mid Dorset and North Poole since 2024. She unsuccessfully contested the same seat in 2015, 2017 and 2019. Political career Slade was the leader of Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council from 2023 until her resignation in July 2024. She previously served as leader from the 2019 election to September 2020. She was head of the "Three Towns Alliance" coalition. She has represented Broadstone ward as a local councillor since 2011, including when the ward was part of Poole Borough Council prior to 2019. In the 2015 general election, her campaign to succeed Annette Brooke was supported by Lord Oakeshott. In the 2024 general election, she unseated Conservative Michael Tomlinson, who had been the Minister of State for Countering Illegal Migration. Canford Heath is a suburb, an area of heathland, and an electoral ward in Poole, Dorset. It is known for being the largest heathland in Dorset, and the largest lowland heath in the UK. It is also the name of the housing development built on the heathland in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. At the 2021 census the population of the ward was 14,387. Broadstone is a suburb and electoral ward of Poole in Dorset, England. It is located from Hamworthy railway station and from Bournemouth International Airport. The ward had a population of 10,289 at the 2021 census. Since 1840, Broadstone has grown from a small farm to a suburb of 10,000 people.
