Mickey Dunne (TV Series)
''Mickey Dunne'' is a 1967 British television comedy series produced by the BBC. It ran for one series of 13 episodes. Synopsis The programme stars Dinsdale Landen as Mickey Dunne, a 28-year-old cockney wide boy, gambler and womaniser who lives on his wits, loosely styled on the title character of the 1966 Michael Caine film ''Alfie''. ''The Radio Times'' described Dunne as: "a loner and a loser, but without bitterness. He always bounces back like a rubber ball after every disaster. Mickey’s got just one problem: his heart’s too big." Dinsdale Landen
Dinsdale James Landen (4 September 1932 – 29 December 2003) was an English actor. His television appearances included starring in the shows ''Devenish'' (1977) and ''Pig in the Middle'' (1980). ''The Independent'' named him an "outstanding actor with the qualities of a true farceur". He performed in many Shakespeare plays at Stratford-upon-Avon and Regent's Park Open Air Theatre. Early life Landen was born at Margate, Kent and educated at King's School, Rochester. Career Landen made his television debut in 1959 as the adult Pip in an adaptation of ''Great Expectations'' and made his film debut in 1960, with a walk-on part in ''The League of Gentlemen''. During the 1960s, he starred in the TV series '' Mickey Dunne'' and '' The Mask of Janus'', and its spinoff series '' The Spies''. John Junkin
John Francis Junkin (29 January 1930 – 7 March 2006) was an English actor and scriptwriter who had a long career in radio, television and film, specialising in comedy. Early life Born in Ealing, Middlesex, the son of a policeman, Junkin and his parents subsequently moved to Forest Gate so that he could attend St Bonaventure's Catholic School there, before qualifying as a teacher at St Mary's College, Strawberry Hill. He worked as a primary school teacher in the East End for three years before becoming a professional actor and scriptwriter. Career In 1960, Junkin joined Joan Littlewood's Stratford East Theatre Workshop and played the lead in the original production of '' Sparrows Can't Sing''. Vincent Brian Hill (16 April 1934 – 22 July 2023) was an English traditional pop singer, best known for his cover version of the Rodgers and Hammerstein show tune " Edelweiss" (1967), which reached No. 2 on the UK Singles Chart. Julian Dean Chavasse Orchard (3 March 1930, in Wheatley, Oxfordshire – 21 June 1979, in Westminster, London) was an English comedy actor.
