''Mickey's Parrot'' is an animated short film produced by Walt Disney, distributed by RKO Radio Pictures and released on September 9, 1938. The film was directed by Ben Sharpsteen and animated by Frenchy de Trémaudan, Louie Schmittt, Chuck Couch, Eddie Strickland, Clyde Geronimi, Paul Satterfield, Archie Robin, Don Patterson. It was the 102nd short in the ''Mickey Mouse'' film series to be released, and the fourth for that year. Plot In this short, a talking parrot escapes from a truck and enters the home of Mickey and Pluto, who hear news of a killer on the loose, and mistake the parrot for the killer. Ben Sharpsteen
Benjamin Sharpsteen (November 4, 1895 – December 20, 1980) was an American film director and producer for The Walt Disney Company, Disney. He directed 31 films between 1920 and 1980. Sharpsteen created a museum documenting the history of California's first millionaire, Samuel Brannan, Sam Brannan, and the history of the Napa County, California, Upper Napa Valley as well as more on Sharpsteen's life and work at the Sharpsteen Museum located in Calistoga, California. He died in Napa County, California. ''Mickey's Mouse Tracks'' is an American animated television series on the Disney Channel which ran from 1992 to 1995, and featured Disney cartoons and animated short films, dating from before the advent of The Disney Channel. A similar show was '' Donald's Quack Attack''. ''The Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck Cartoon Collections'' was a series of Disney videos compiling cartoon shorts produced between 1936 and 1954. It was a Disney attempt at releasing its stable of cartoon shorts to video under their own label, after their DiscoVision experiment. The discs were released in 1981 and 1982, two years before Disney unveiled The Disney Channel and two years also before they released Walt Disney Cartoon Classics. There were three videos released in all, each with six shorts. Each of the six shorts presented included two cartoons each starring Mickey Mouse, two each starring Pluto and two each starring Donald Duck. There were no cartoons that starred Goofy (the only time Goofy appeared in a cartoon was if he costarred alongside Mickey and/or Donald).
