Mick Nolan (Australian Footballer)
Michael Francis Nolan (9 November 1949 – 27 May 2008) was an Australian rules footballer who played for the North Melbourne Football Club in the Australian Football League, Victorian Football League (VFL). Because of his weight of 135 kg and height of 194 cm, Nolan was dubbed "The Galloping Gasometer" by commentator Lou Richards. Until the emergence of Aaron Sandilands (only 120 kg) in the early 2000s, Nolan was the heaviest Ruckman (Australian rules football position), ruckman to play VFL/AFL football. He was nevertheless surprisingly agile and regarded as one of the best "palm" ruckmen of the 1970s. Nolan had a long kick and was unusually effective, for a big man, in picking up the ball at ground level. The Ovens & King Football Netball League (OKFNL) is an Australian rules football and netball competition based in north-eastern Victoria (state), Victoria around the regional cities of Benalla, Victoria, Benalla and Wangaratta, Victoria, Wangaratta. Barry Cable
Barry Thomas Cable MBE (born 22 September 1943) is a former Australian rules footballer and coach. Considered one of the greatest rovers in the sport's history, he played in 379 premiership games in the Western Australian Football League (WAFL) and the Victorian Football League (VFL), and later coached in both competitions. However, his reputation was left in tatters after allegations of historical sex crimes, including a code-first revocation of his Australian Football Hall of Fame status as well as his removal from the Sport Australia Hall of Fame in 2023. Born in Narrogin, Western Australia, Cable made his debut with the Perth Football Club in the WANFL in 1962, and won the Sandover Medal as the fairest and best player in the competition in 1964. Allen Aylett
Allen James Aylett OBE (24 April 1934 – 16 September 2022) was an Australian rules football player and administrator, best known for his administrator career for which he was inducted into the Sport Australia Hall of Fame in 2006. As chairman of the then Victorian Football League (VFL) from 1977 to 1984 he oversaw the competition's first expansion outside Victoria into the Sydney market with the establishment of the Sydney Swans, ultimately paving the way for it to become a national competition. Peter Keenan
Peter Patrick Pius Paul "Crackers" Keenan (born 7 April 1951) is a former Australian rules footballer who worked as a strapper for Bart Cummings, and played with Melbourne, Essendon and North Melbourne in the Victorian Football League. Keenan played as a 197 cm ruckman and was a solid marker of the ball as well as having a good drop punt. He was recruited from Assumption College by Melbourne for whom he made his VFL debut in 1970. After playing 101 games for Melbourne in six seasons he signed for North Melbourne, a club who had just won the premiership. Apart from having the chance to play regular finals football he had also been tempted to the club by the coach, Ron Barassi. He was North Melbourne's first ruckman in their 1977 premiership team. Mark Maclure
Mark Maclure (born 14 July 1955) is a former Australian rules footballer in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Originally from New South Wales club East Sydney, Maclure was recruited by Carlton and made his senior VFL debut in Round 13, 1974. He retired from the game in 1986 after playing 243 games for the club. Maclure was captain of Carlton for the 1986 season.
