Michigan's 4th Senate District
Michigan's 4th Senate district is one of 38 districts in the Michigan Senate. It has been represented by Democrat Darrin Camilleri since 2023, succeeding fellow Democrat Marshall Bullock. Geography District 4 encompasses part of Wayne County. 2011 Apportionment Plan District 4, as dictated by the 2011 Apportionment Plan, was based in central Detroit in Wayne County, also covering the nearby communities of Allen Park, Lincoln Park, and Southgate. The district was split three ways among Michigan's 12th, 13th, and 14th congressional districts, and overlapped with the 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 10th, 13th, and 14th districts of the Michigan House of Representatives. Darrin Camilleri
Darrin Camilleri (born January 28, 1992) is an American politician from Michigan who represents the 4th District in the Michigan Senate since 2023. He previously represented the 23rd District in the Michigan House of Representatives. A member of the Democratic Party, his constituency includes several Downriver communities, including Brownstown, Gibraltar, Grosse Ile, Huron, Trenton and Woodhaven. Early life and education Camilleri was born in Dearborn, Michigan, to a Maltese-American immigrant father and a second-generation Mexican-American mother. He is the oldest of three children. 2014 Michigan Senate Election
Elections for the Michigan Senate was held on Tuesday, November 4, 2014, with partisan primary elections to select the party's nominees held on August 5. All 38 seats in the Michigan Senate were contested, and those elected will serve in the 98th and 99th Michigan Legislatures. This was the first election for the Michigan Senate contested under the constituency boundaries drawn in consequence of the 2010 U.S. Census. The election resulted in the Republicans expanding their majority to 27 seats over the Democrats 11 seats. Members not seeking re-election State Senators are only allowed to serve 2 four-year terms, a maximum of 8 years. The following Senators were not running for a new term in 2014. Patricia Holmes (Michigan Politician)
Patricia A. Holmes (born 1959) is a former member of the Michigan Senate. Holmes was born around 1959. Holmes was the daughter of Michigan state senator David S. Holmes Jr. Upon her father's death, she won a special election that allowed her to succeed her father. Ian Kyle Conyers (born October 28, 1988) is an American politician who represented the 4th District of Michigan in the Michigan Senate for one term. He is a member of the Democratic Party. Fred Durhal III
Fred Durhal III (born April 1, 1984) is an American politician who currently serves as a member of the Detroit City Council. Durhal served as a member of the Michigan House of Representatives for the 5th District from 2015 to 2019. Durhal succeeded his father, Fred Durhal, Jr., in the House. Michigan House Of Representatives
The Michigan House of Representatives is the lower house of the Michigan Legislature. There are 110 members, each of whom is elected from constituencies having approximately 77,000 to 91,000 residents, based on population figures from the 2010 U.S. Census.
