The U.S. Tenth Fleet is a functional formation and a numbered fleet in the United States Navy. It was first created as a global anti-submarine warfare coordinating organization under the singular authority of the Commander in Chief, U.S. Fleet (COMINCH), Admiral Ernest J. King, during the Second World War. It was focused upon the destruction of enemy submarines and blockade runners globally, although primarily in the Atlantic and Indian Oceans.
