Michael Sommer
Michael Sommer (born 15 January 1952) is a German trade unionist leader. He served for 12 years as the chairman of the German Confederation of Trade Unions (DGB). Early life and career Born in Büderich, now part of Meerbusch, North Rhine-Westphalia, Sommer studied political sciences at Free University of Berlin from 1971 to 1980. He has been a member of the German Post Trade Union, which became part of ver.di in 2001, since 1971. After his final degree, Sommer worked for the trade union. He climbed the ladder in the trade union becoming chairman of ver.di on 18 March 2001. A year later, on 28 May 2002, he was elected chairman of the DGB. He served for twelve years, retiring in 2014. IAU 100 Km World Championships
The IAU 100 km World Championships have been held annually since 1987, at different locations, and is organized by the International Association of Ultrarunners (IAU). Due to lack of sponsorship, the 2013 event, planned for Jeju Island, South Korea, was cancelled and the 2014 event, originally due to be held at Daugavpils, Latvia, was held instead in Doha, Qatar. Michael Sandor Sommer (October 9, 1934 – April 23, 2022) Published by The Washington Post on Apr. 28, 2022. was an American football player from Sommer attended Woodrow Wilson High School in Washington, DC where he was an ALL High running back, leading the Tigers to the Interhigh championship in 1952 scoring 5 TDs against archrival Western. A week later, WW defeated Catholic league champion St Johns for the City title in Griffith Stadium, 24-6. Sommer ran for a 44 yard TD and threw 23 yards for another score.
