Michael Thomas Roth (born February 15, 1990) is an American former professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and Texas Rangers. Before beginning his professional career, he played college baseball for the South Carolina Gamecocks at the University of South Carolina, where he was named a First Team All-American after the 2011 season. Roth also represented Great Britain internationally, including at the 2019 European Baseball Championship. Early life and college career Roth attended Riverside High School in Greer, South Carolina. In addition to playing for the school's baseball team, Roth also played for the basketball team. He was one of the pioneers in the area of computer engineering in Germany. Life Roth was born in Lomnička, and originally completed his vocational training as a mechanic for agricultural machinery and as a programmer. Michael Helmut Roth (born 24 August 1970) is a German politician of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) who has been serving as a member of the German Bundestag since 27 September 1998. From 2013 to 2021 Roth also served as Minister of State for Europe at the German Federal Foreign Office in the government of Chancellor Angela Merkel.
