Michael Murphy is an Irish Fine Gael politician who has been a Teachta Dála (TD) for the Tipperary South constituency since the 2024 general election. He was elected to South Tipperary County Council in 2009, was a member of Tipperary County Council from 2014 to 2024. He was an unsuccessful candidate at the 2011 general election for Tipperary South. A Teachta Dála ( ; ; plural ), abbreviated as TD (plural ''TDanna'' in Irish language, Irish, TDs in English), is a member of Dáil Éireann, the lower house of the Oireachtas, the parliament of Republic of Ireland, Ireland. The official English translation of the term is "Dáil Deputy". An equivalent position would be a Member of parliament, Member of Parliament (MP) in the UK or Member of Congress in the USA. Simon Harris
Simon Harris (born 17 October 1986) is an Irish Fine Gael politician serving as Tánaiste, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade and Minister for Defence since January 2025, having previously served as Taoiseach from 2024 to 2025. He has been leader of Fine Gael since 2024 and a TD for the Wicklow constituency since 2011. A Cabinet minister since 2016, he previously served as a minister of state from 2014 to 2016. Born in Greystones, Harris became politically active as a teenager, campaigning on behalf of children with autism and attention deficit disorder. He was elected to Wicklow County Council in the 2009 local elections. Alan Farrell (born 29 December 1977) is an Irish former Fine Gael politician who served as a member of Seanad Éireann from December 2024 to January 2025.
