Michael Hughes (serial Killer)
Michael Hubert Hughes (born ) is a convicted American serial killer on death row in San Quentin. Hughes was initially sentenced to life without parole for the murders of four women and girls in California. Later, he was convicted of committing three further murders of women, linked to the crimes via DNA profiling. At the second trial, he was sentenced to the death penalty. Biography Michael Herbert Hughes was born in 1958 in Michigan. Shortly after his birth, his father left the family. At age 5, Hughes, his mother, and his sister moved to California. He grew up in Pasadena then Los Angeles, where he attended Los Angeles High School from 9th to 12th grade. Hughes lived in a dysfunctional family; his mother was an alcoholic who regularly beat him and his sister. When Hughes' sister became pregnant; his mother aborted the baby in front of him. The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) is the penal law enforcement agency of the government of California responsible for the operation of the California state prison and parole systems. Southside Slayer
{{unreferenced, date=April 2022 The Southside Slayer was a collective epithet used by the media and police to what was initially believed to be a single serial killer who killed upwards of a hundred predominantly black prostitutes in the Los Angeles area from the 1980s to the 1990s. Tom Bradley (American Politician)
Thomas Bradley (December 29, 1917September 29, 1998) was an American politician and police officer who served as the 38th Mayor of Los Angeles from 1973 to 1993. He was the first black mayor of Los Angeles, and his 20 years in office mark the longest tenure by any mayor in the city's history. His election as mayor in 1973 made him the second black mayor of a major U.S. city. Bradley retired in 1993, after his approval ratings began dropping subsequent to the 1992 Los Angeles Riots. Bradley, a Democrat, also ran for Governor of California in 1982 and 1986 but was defeated both times by Republican candidate George Deukmejian.
