Michael Dugan (general)
Michael Joseph Dugan (born February 22, 1937) is a retired American general. He was briefly the 13th Chief of Staff of the United States Air Force (USAF) for 79 days in 1990 until he was dismissed by U.S. Secretary of Defense Dick Cheney after telling reporters that the U.S. military planned to target Iraqi president Saddam Hussein, his family, and even his mistress in the 1991 Gulf War. He became the first member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff to be dismissed since Admiral Louis Denfeld in 1949, and the first top general to be relieved since General Douglas MacArthur in 1951. Early life and education Dugan was born in Albany, New York. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the United States Military Academy in 1958, and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Colorado in 1972. Michael Dugan (1947 – 16 March 2006) was an Australian poet, children's writer, and editor. In 1968, he first published his own small poetry magazine, ''Crosscurrents'', from the Melbourne suburb of Canterbury Canterbury (, ) is a City status in the United Kingdom, city and UNESCO World Heritage Site, in the county of Kent, England; it was a county borough until 1974. Michael Brian Dugan (born August 19, 1963) is an American politician who served in the Georgia State Senate representing the 30th District from 2013 to 2024. He was the Republican Majority Leader from 2019 to 2023. In 2024, Dugan was a candidate in Georgia's 3rd congressional district. Michael Edward Duggan (born July 15, 1958) is an American lawyer, businessman, and politician serving as the List of mayors of Detroit, Michigan, 75th mayor of Detroit, Michigan since 2014.
