Mick Crawley
Michael John Crawley (born 1949) is a British Emeritus Professor of Plant Ecology at Imperial College London. He is based at Silwood Park campus near Ascot, Berkshire. His research focuses on the relationship between plants and their herbivores, and on the way that alien plants modify plant community dynamics. Mike Crawley is a Canadian businessman and has been president and CEO of Northland Power since 2018 having joined the company's Executive team in 2015. He is originally from the Ottawa region. On January 14, 2012, he was elected president of the Liberal Party of Canada for a two-year term, defeating former Member of Parliament Sheila Copps by 26 votes. Crawley was previously president of the federal party's Ontario wing. From 2002 to 2009, Crawley was CEO of AIM PowerGen Corporation, a wind and solar power developer, owner and operator until International Power Inc. acquired it in 2009. Crawley continued as President of International Power Canada and, its successor, GDF Suez Canada until 2014. CBLT-DT (channel 5) is a television station in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, serving as the flagship station of the English-language service of CBC Television. It is part of a twinstick with Ici Radio-Canada Télé outlet CBLFT-DT (channel 25). Both stations share studios at the Canadian Broadcasting Centre on Front Street West in downtown Toronto, which is also shared with national cable news channel CBC News Network and houses the studios for most of CBC's news and entertainment programs. CBLT-DT's transmitter is located atop the CN Tower. History The station first signed on the air on September 8, 1952, originally broadcasting on VHF channel 9. It is the oldest television station in the province of Ontario, and the second oldest in Canada after Ici Radio-Canada Télé flagship station CBFT in Montreal.
