Michael Cooper
Michael Jerome Cooper (born April 15, 1956) is an American basketball coach and former player who is the boys varsity coach at Culver City High School. He played for the Los Angeles Lakers in the National Basketball Association (NBA), winning five NBA championships with the Lakers during their Showtime era. He was an eight-time selection to the NBA All-Defensive Team, including five times on the first team. He was named the NBA Defensive Player of the Year in 1987. Cooper's previous coaching jobs include leading the Los Angeles Sparks of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) to two championships and the Albuquerque Thunderbirds to one NBA G League title. Michael John Cooper (born 8 October 1999) is a professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Plymouth Argyle. Club career Michael Cooper made his professional debut in a League One game away to Blackburn Rovers aged 18 years and 6 days old. With starting goalkeeper Kyle Letheren going off injured, Cooper came on for the second half, as the game finished 1–1. He was also a key member of the Plymouth Argyle Youth Team who reached the last 16 of the FA Youth Cup, making crucial saves in victories over Manchester City and Burnley in 3rd and 4th rounds of the competition. On 17 December 2019, Cooper signed a new long-term deal at Plymouth Argyle, until the end of the 2021–22 season. Michael Cooper (born September 1, 1989 in New York, New York) is an American-born race car driver who currently competes in the Pirelli World Challenge. He resides in Huntington, New York, and also has a business management degree from at NYIT (New York Institute of Technology), and a nutrition degree from Long Island University. Racing career Early career In 2009, Cooper's brother signed him up for the Bob Lutz Cadillac CTS-V Challenge driving competition. Michael Hymie Cooper (né Kupferroth, 15 December 1938 – 15 July 2017) was a British-born economist and one of the first to develop the field of health economics in the 1960s. He later moved to the University of Otago in New Zealand. Biography Cooper took a position as senior chair in economics at the University of Otago in 1976, where he established the university's first health economics class. He worked at the university for 18 years, becoming pro vice-chancellor. He chaired the Otago Area Health Board. In 1990 he was awarded the New Zealand 1990 Commemoration Medal, and in the 1994 New Year Honours, he was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire for services to health administration. Michael "Ibo" Cooper (born 1952) is a Jamaican reggae musician and musical educator. He was member of the pop-band Inner Circle and founding member of the reggae band Third World. Third World was originally formed in 1973 by keyboardist Michael "Ibo" Cooper and guitarist/cellist Steven "Cat" Coore. Both had received formal training at different music schools run by their aunt and mother respectively in Jamaica, and both had played around the Kingston reggae scene before joining the original lineup of Inner Circle around 1968, when they left to form their own band in 1973. They took Inner Circle's drummer Carl Barovier and lead singer Milton "Prilly" Hamilton. Colin Leslie was recruited from outside to be the bassist but was quickly replaced by Richard 'Richie' Daley. Michael Cooper (1941–1973) was a British photographer who is remembered for his photographs of leading rock musicians of the 1960s and early 1970s, most notably the many photos he took of The Rolling Stones from 1963 to 1973. His best known work is the cover photography for the 1967 LP ''Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band'' by The Beatles. The "Welcome the Rolling Stones, Good Guys" sweatshirt worn by the "little girl" figure on the far right of the photo (actually a cloth figure of Shirley Temple) was provided by Cooper's young son Adam, the product of his marriage to Rose, his muse and model. Michael J. Cooper (born March 8, 1984) is a Canadian politician who was first elected to represent the riding of St. Albert—Edmonton in the House of Commons of Canada in the 2015 federal election. Cooper was re-elected in both the 2019 and 2021 federal elections and currently serves as the Conservative Shadow Minister for Democratic Reform. Prior to entering politics, Cooper worked as a civil litigator at a law firm in Edmonton. Con Funk Shun
Con Funk Shun (formerly known as Project Soul) is an American R&B and funk band whose popularity began in the mid-1970s and ran through the 1980s. They were influenced by funk legend James Brown and Sly and the Family Stone. Signed to Mercury Records in 1976, Con Funk Shun enjoyed a decade of successful national and overseas tours, eleven chart-topping albums, and numerous hit singles. The group formally disbanded in 1986. History The band began in 1969 as "Project Soul", formed by Louis A.
