Mexico–Norway Relations
The nations of Mexico and Norway established diplomatic relations in 1906. Both nations are members of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development and the United Nations. History Norway recognized Mexico after the latter obtained its independence from Spain in 1821. At the time, Norway was part of the Union between Sweden and Norway. Mexico and the Union established diplomatic relations on 29 July 1885 with the signing of a ''Treaty of Friendship, Navigation and Commerce''. The union disbanded in 1905 and Norway became an independent nation. On 5 April 1906, Mexico established diplomatic relations with Norway. In 1910 Norway established an embassy in Mexico City and Mexico would established an embassy in Oslo a few years later. Enrique Peña Nieto
Enrique Peña Nieto (; born 20 July 1966), commonly referred to by his initials EPN, is a Mexican former politician and lawyer who was the 64th president of Mexico from 2012 to 2018. A member of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI), he previously was Governor of the State of Mexico from 2005 to 2011, Congress of the State of México, local deputy from 2003 to 2004, and Secretary of state, Secretary of Administration from 2000 to 2002. Oslo Airport () , alternatively referred to as Oslo Gardermoen Airport or simply Gardermoen, is an international airport serving Oslo, the capital and most populous city of Norway. Børge Brende (born 25 September 1965) is a Norwegian politician and diplomat, and has been the president and CEO of the World Economic Forum since 2017.
