"Method of Modern Love" is a song by the American duo Daryl Hall & John Oates. It was released as the second single from their 1984 album, ''Big Bam Boom''. The song reached number five on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 in February 1985. Music video The setting and the mood of the music video is kept very surreal, almost dream-like. At the beginning, Hall and Oates are discovered in their cozy apartment by someone on the roof, looking through a skylight. G. E. Smith throws a V-style guitar through the window, as if it were a spear. The guitar sticks into the floor and then begins glowing. This incites Hall and Oates to go up to the roof to investigate. There, on the roof of the apartment, they become mesmerized by a four-man band, and then all the men perform a choreography. Hall & Oates
Daryl Hall and John Oates, commonly known as Hall & Oates, are an American pop rock duo formed in Philadelphia in 1970. Daryl Hall is generally the lead vocalist; John Oates primarily plays electric guitar and provides backing vocals. The two write most of the songs they perform, separately or in collaboration. They achieved their greatest fame from the mid-1970s to the late-1980s with a fusion of rock and roll, soul music and rhythm and blues. Though they are commonly referred to as ''Hall & Oates'', Hall has been adamant about the duo being called Daryl Hall & John Oates – its official name. Nanda Lwin
Nanda Layos Lwin (born August 31, 1971, in London, Ontario) is a Canadian author, music historian, journalist, civil engineer, and educator. He wrote the weekly ChartTalk column, a commentary of the current Canadian music charts; it appeared on canoe.ca from 1997 to 2002 and in ''The Hamilton Spectator'' from 2003 to 2006. He is the author and publisher of eight books including ''Top 40 Hits: The Essential Chart Guide'' (1999) and ''Top Albums: The Essential Chart Guide'' (2003), primarily documenting the chart history of the Canadian music magazine '' The Record''. ''Big Bam Boom'' is the twelfth studio album by American duo Daryl Hall & John Oates, released by RCA Records on October 12, 1984. It marked the end of one of the most successful album runs by a duo of the 1980s. RCA issued a remastered version in July 2004 with four bonus tracks. The lead single " Out of Touch" was a #1 pop hit, and charted in several other areas (#24 Hot Black Singles, #8 on the Adult Contemporary charts and #1 on the dance charts, #48 in the UK). Another song taken from the album, the Daryl Hall and Janna Allen-penned "Method of Modern Love" reached a high point of #5, and "Some Things Are Better Left Unsaid," reached #18.
