''Message Stick'' was an Australian television series about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander lifestyles, culture and issues. History The weekly half-hour show began screening in 1999 on ABC Television. It featured profile stories, interviews, video clips, short films and cooking segments. The last show went to air in July 2012. Presenters included Aden Ridgeway (from July 2006), Miriam Corowa, Rachael Maza, Kelrick Martin, Deborah Mailman, and Trisha Morton-Thomas. Wayne Blair is an Australian writer, actor, and director. He was on both sides of the camera in '' Redfern Now'', and directed the feature film '' The Sapphires''. He played a prominent role in the 2021–2024 drama series '' Total Control''. Early life and education Wayne Blair was born in Taree, New South Wales, to Julie and Bob Blair, and has two older sisters, Janet and Mandy. He is an Aboriginal Australian man and he describes himself as a Batjala, Mununjali, Wakka Wakka man. As Blair's father was a soldier, the family moved around. While Blair was still young, his father was posted to Woodside in South Australia. When he was a teenager, Blair's family were sent to Rockhampton, Queensland. Early life Trevor Jamieson was born on 7 March 1975 in Subiaco, Western Australia (WA). He grew up in the Western Australian Goldfields region, mostly around Kalgoorlie, Esperance, and Norseman, but his people are mostly of the Central Desert, in particular Nullarbor and Maralinga. Bob Randall (Indigenous Australian)
Robert James Randall (1934 – 12 May 2015), also known as Uncle Bob, was an Aboriginal Australian elder, singer and community leader. He was a member of the Stolen Generations and became an elder of the Yankunytjatjara people from Central Australia. He was the 1999 NAIDOC Person of the Year. He is known for his 1970 song, "My Brown Skin Baby (They Take 'Im Away)". Early life Randall was born at Middleton Pond on Tempe Downs Station in the Central Desert region of the Northern Territory. His mother, Tanguawa, was a Yankunytjatjara domestic servant at the station. His father, William Liddle, was the White Australian owner of the station.
