Song history The song was initially called "I Saw Satan Fall Like Lightning," a track Switchfoot demoed during pre-production sessions for ''Hello Hurricane'' with Charlie Peacock. Switchfoot is an American rock music, rock band from San Diego, California. The band's members are Jon Foreman (lead vocals, guitar), Tim Foreman (bass guitar, backing vocals), Chad Butler (drum kit, drums, percussion), and Jerome Fontamillas (guitar, keyboard instrument, keyboards, backing vocals).
