Merve Özbey
Merve Özbey (born 18 July 1988) is a Turkish singer and songwriter. Due to her collaborations with Erdem Kınay in the songs "Duman" and "Helal Ettim", she became famous in Turkey. Life and career Merve Özbey was born on 18 July 1988 in Istanbul. Her family originate from Erzurum. She studied Turkish classical music in Istanbul Technical University. Singer Ebru Gündeş discovered Özbey's talent. While listening to her at Utku's concert, she liked her voice and asked Özbey to perform a few more songs and eventually took her as her own backing vocalist. Özbey subsequently became a backing vocalist for singers Demet Akalın, Bengü, Özcan Deniz, Ferman Toprak, Utku and Yaşar İpek. While she was working as a vocalist on Demet Akalın's new album she met Erdem Kınay. Kınay said that he was working on a new album and asked Özbey to collaborate with him. Mustafa Ceceli (; born 2 November 1980) is a Turkish singer. Career His musical career started with an amateur high school band. After high school, he attended to Ankara University Faculty of Veterinary. In third class, he left this faculty, he took the university entrance exams second time and he attended Yeditepe University Management department. His professional music career has started after meeting Ozan Doğulu and with his various arrangements for Sezen Aksu. His first album was released in 2009 with the title also bearing his own name. Mustafa Ceceli has co-produced, arranged or performed over twenty top ten hits in Turkish charts. He has twice won the Turkey Music Awards. They were in the categories of "Best Album" and "Best Male Artist". He received the awards in 2010 and 2014. Emrah Karaduman (born 4 November 1987) is a Turkish composer and arranger. Life and career Karaduman was born 4 November 1987 in Samsun. Although he later enrolled in the conservatory to study music, he could not continue his education due to financial difficulties. After working in bars in Samsun for a while, he moved to Istanbul to pursue a career in music. While working in a bar in Kadıköy, Hande Yener's stage crew reached to him and offered him to join Yener's orchestra. He worked with Yener for many years. Afterwards, he composed or arranged the songs of various singers including Demet Akalın, İrem Derici, Emir, Bengü, Mustafa Ceceli, Murat Boz and Hadise, as well as various songs of Hande Yener. Soul music is a popular music genre that originated in the African American community throughout the United States in the late 1950s and early 1960s. It has its roots in African-American gospel music and rhythm and blues. Arabesque (Turkish Music)
Arabesque ( tr, Arabesk) is a style of music created in Turkey. The genre was particularly popular in Turkey from the 1960s through the 2000s. Its aesthetics have evolved over the decades. Its melodies are influenced by espesically Arab Music, the music of Southeastern Europe and the Middle East, including bağlama music and Ottoman forms of oriental music. Arabesque music are mostly in a minor key, typically in the Phrygian mode, and themes tend to focus on longing, melancholy, strife and love issues. Description and history A very small percentage of Arabesque is exclusively instrumental. For the great majority of it, a singer lies at the center of the music. Male singers dominated the genre in its early years, but female singers probably predominated during its peak years of popularity.
