Mercy's Mark Quartet
Mercy's Mark Quartet was an American Christian music group. Musical career The group was founded in 2004 by Garry R. Jones who sang baritone and also served as group pianist/producer. They won the Singing News Fan Awards' Horizon Group of the Year award in 2005. They rose to prominence within the Christian music genre charting songs for Daywind Records and gaining national attention within a short period of time. The group toured extensively throughout the United States as well as Canada and Norway. In the fall of 2007 Garry R. Jones announced that Mercy's Mark would no longer be touring for the remainder of that year but indicated that the group could return in the future. Legacy Five is a Southern gospel quartet founded by former Cathedral Quartet members Roger Bennett and Scott Fowler in 1999, after the owners of the Cathedral Quartet, Glen Payne and George Younce, decided to retire in 1999. History Legacy Five's very first lineup consisted of tenor Josh Cobb, lead Scott Fowler, baritone Scott Howard, bass Glenn Dustin, and pianist Roger Bennett, who supplied a fifth vocal part in some songs. The group enjoyed great success with their first album release, ''Strong In The Strength''. The group's first Top 10 hit, "I Stand Redeemed", featured young tenor Josh Cobb. He won the Horizon Individual Award at the 2000 National Quartet Convention, and resigned from the group two days later, saying he felt he wasn't really part of the group. Cobb was replaced by Tony Jarman, who stayed with the group until 2004. Chris West (born 1954) is a British writer. He works in a range of genres: business, psychology, history and crime / general fiction. His four mysteries written in the 1990s were among the first crime novels to be set in the contemporary People's Republic of China. Biography After studying economics and philosophy at the London School of Economics, West travelled in China, leading to his first book, ''Journey to the Middle Kingdom'' in 1991. Following that, he wrote the four crime novels featuring Wang Anzhuang, a mid-ranking detective in the Beijing ''Xing Zhen Ke'' (Criminal Investigation Department) and his wife, Rosina Lin, a nurse at the Capital Hospital. In 2020, these were reissued with new titles and Wang's name changed to Bao Zheng (a reference to a hero of traditional Chinese detective stories from the Song Dynasty).
