Mercedes-Benz MFA Platform
The Mercedes-Benz MFA platform (Modular Front-Drive Architecture) is a car platform that produced by German automotive company Daimler AG. Intended for subcompact front-engine, front- and four-wheel drive applications, the first generation was produced from 2012 to 2019. An evolution of the platform, MFA2, has been in production since 2018. The first iteration of the platform was also shared by Japanese automaker Infiniti from 2016 to 2019. Background At the 2011 Geneva International Motor Show, Mercedes-Benz announced its intention to streamline the brand's car platforms, reducing the current nine platforms in production to just three, with the goal to create a more modular approach towards manufacturing. Rastatt () is a town with a Baroque core, District of Rastatt, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is located in the Upper Rhine Plain on the Murg river, above its junction with the Rhine and has a population of around 51,000 (2022). The Infiniti Etherea is a concept car that was announced at the Geneva Motor Show#2011, 2011 Geneva Motor Show made by the Infiniti division of Nissan Motors. The Etherea is a front-wheel drive compact executive car, compact executive 5-door hatchback with 5 seats and not dissimilar in size and concept to the Lexus CT200h and is built on the same platform as the Nissan Qashqai and Renault Mégane. The Etherea is powered by a supercharged 2.5-litre Inline-four engine, I4 petrol engine producing with a lithium-ion battery-powered electric motor to maintain momentum.
