Distorted is a heavy metal band from Bat-Yam, Israel. History The band was formed in 1996 and released two demos. In 2002 they began concentrating more seriously on playing live. In 2001, the band released its first official release, a self-titled EP, which was followed by another EP which was recorded in 2003 and released in 2004 - ''Illusive''. Following the release of those EPs, the band started performing extensively around the Tel Aviv area, supporting such international bands as Edguy, Destruction, and Megadeth, and such local bands as Betzefer, Salem, and Orphaned Land. In 2003 and 2004 the band began to write the music for their debut album ''Memorial'' which was recorded in 2005 in Studio Underground in Sweden. The band then signed a deal with NMC Records in Israel and the French label Bad Reputation for worldwide release. Oriental Metal
Folk metal is a fusion genre of heavy metal music and traditional folk music that developed in Europe during the 1990s. It is characterised by the widespread use of folk instruments and, to a lesser extent, traditional singing styles (for example, Dutch Heidevolk, Danish Sylvatica and Spanish Stone of Erech). It also sometimes features soft instrumentation influenced by folk rock. The earliest folk metal bands were Skyclad from England and Cruachan from Ireland. Progressive Metal
Progressive metal (sometimes shortened to prog metal) is a broad fusion music genre melding heavy metal and progressive rock, combining the loud "aggression" and amplified guitar-driven sound of the former with the more experimental, cerebral or "pseudo-classical" compositions of the latter. One of these experimental examples introduced to modern metal was djent. The music typically showcases the extreme technical proficiency of the performers and usually uses unorthodox harmonies as well as complex rhythms with frequent meter changes and intense syncopation.
