Barry Mehler
Barry Alan Mehler is an American social researcher. He was a professor of humanities at Ferris State University, who founded the Institute for the Study of Academic Racism (ISAR). COVID-19 "Welcome Video" Controversy In January 2022, Mehler posted an expletive-laden video to his YouTube channel to welcome students to his class. He discouraged students from attending class in-person due to the risk of transmitting COVID. In the video, Mehler referred to his students as "vectors of disease" and claimed he had given each one of them a grade before the class had even started. He further berated college administrators for requiring him to teach face-to-face classes in light of the COVID-19 pandemic The COVID-19 pandemic, also known as the coronavirus pandemic, is an ongoing global pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). Mehler Kernel
The Mehler kernel is a complex-valued function found to be the propagator of the quantum harmonic oscillator. Mehler's formula defined a function and showed, in modernized notation, that it can be expanded in terms of Hermite polynomials (.) based on weight function exp(−²) as :E(x,y) = \sum_^\infty \frac ~ \mathit_n(x)\mathit_n(y) ~. This result is useful, in modified form, in quantum physics, probability theory, and harmonic analysis. Physics version In physics, the fundamental solution, (Green's function), or propagator of the Hamiltonian for the quantum harmonic oscillator is called the Mehler kernel. It provides the fundamental solution---the most general solution to :\frac = \frac-x^2\varphi \equiv D_x \varphi ~. The orthonormal eigenfunctions of the operator are the Hermite functions, :\psi_n = \frac, with corresponding eigenvalues (2+1), furnishing particular solutions : \varphi_n(x, t)= e^ ~H_n(x) \exp(-x^2/2) ~. The general solution is then a linear comb ...

Jay Mehler
Jason "Jay" Mehler (born September 8, 1971) is an American musician. He played guitar in British rock band Kasabian from 2006 to 2013, when he quit to become a touring member of Beady Eye, until their disbanding in late 2014. Mehler continued as a session and touring musician for Liam Gallagher since 2017. Career Kasabian During the recording of Kasabian's second album, ''Empire'' (2006), Christopher Karloff, one of the band's guitarists and songwriters, left the band due to "creative and artistic differences". Jay Mehler was his replacement. He was a permanent touring member of Kasabian, although he was not involved with most of the promotional work that the band did. While he is not credited on ''Empire'', Jay plays on the b-sides to the singles released off the album and also features in the video for the song "Empire". Beady Eye On March 7, 2013, it was announced that Jay was leaving Kasabian and had joined Beady Eye on bass guitar. Mehler stayed with the band until their ...

Gustav Ferdinand Mehler
Gustav Ferdinand Mehler, or Ferdinand Gustav Mehler (13 December 1835, in Schönlanke, Kingdom of Prussia – 13 July 1895, in Elbing, German Empire) was a German mathematician. He is credited with introducing Mehler's formula; the Mehler–Fock transform; the Mehler–Heine formula; and Mehler functions (conical functions), in connection with his utilization of Zonal spherical function In mathematics, a zonal spherical function or often just spherical function is a function on a locally compact group ''G'' with compact subgroup ''K'' (often a maximal compact subgroup) that arises as the matrix coefficient of a ''K''-invariant vect ...s in Electromagnetic theory. Mehler Reaction
The Mehler reaction is named after Alan H. Mehler, who, in 1951, presented data to the effect that isolated chloroplasts reduce oxygen to form hydrogen peroxide (). Mehler observed that the formed in this way does not present an active intermediate in photosynthesis; rather, as a reactive oxygen species, it can be toxic to surrounding biological processes as an oxidizing agent. In scientific literature, the Mehler reaction often is used interchangeably with the Water-Water Cycle to refer to the formation of by photosynthesis. ''Sensu stricto'', the Water Water Cycle encompasses the Hill reaction, in which water is split to form oxygen, as well as the Mehler Reaction, in which oxygen is reduced to form and, finally, the scavenging of this by antioxidants to form water. Beginning in the 1970s, Professor Kozi Asada elucidated that oxygen can be reduced by electrons emerging from ferredoxin of photosystem I, to form superoxide, which is then reduced by superoxide dismutase to form ...

Mehler Function
In mathematics, conical functions or Mehler functions are functions which can be expressed in terms of Legendre functions of the first and second kind, P^\mu_(x) and Q^\mu_(x). The functions P^\mu_(x) were introduced by Gustav Ferdinand Mehler, in 1868, when expanding in series the distance of a point on the axis of a cone to a point located on the surface of the cone. Mehler used the notation K^\mu(x) to represent these functions. He obtained integral representation and series of functions representations for them. He also established an addition theorem for the conical functions. Carl Neumann obtained an expansion of the functions K^\mu(x) in terms of the Legendre polynomials in 1881. Leonhardt introduced for the conical functions the equivalent of the spherical harmonics In mathematics and physical science, spherical harmonics are special functions defined on the surface of a sphere. They are often employed in solving partial differential equations in many scientific fields. ...
