Mehdipatnam is a locality and neighbourhood in the western part of the city of Hyderabad, India. It is located north of the Musi River near Asif Nagar and is named after Mehdi Nawaz Jung, a politician and bureaucrat of Hyderabad State. Due to recent developments in the last few decades, Mehdipatnam has become a commercial centre known for its jewellery market and shopping complex. Commercial areas Due to large developments in Mehdipatnam over the last two decades, the close proximity to other commercial centres, and its transport system, the town has become a shopping centre for many suburbs. Mohammad Majid Hussain
Mohammad Majid Hussain (born 9 April 1980) is an Indian politician who is currently the Member of the Telangana Legislative Assembly representing the Nampally Assembly constituency and corporator of Mehdipatnam ward of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation. He was the former Mayor of Hyderabad and belongs to the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul-Muslimeen party. Nawab Mehdi Nawaz Jung (23 May 1894 – 28 June 1967) was an Indian bureaucrat and was Secretary to the Executive Council during the Nizam rule. He also served as the Governor of Gujarat from 1960 to 1965.
