Fei Liang
Fei Liang ( zh, 费梁; 1936 – 4 June 2022) was a Chinese herpetologist. Biography Fei was admitted to Sichuan Agricultural University in 1956 where he majored in animal husbandry. After graduating in 1961, he began working for the , where he began research on amphibians. He started as an assistant to amphibian research experts and , but began leading a team of researchers in 1980 alongside his wife, Ye Changyuan. In total, the couple are credited with discovering over 126 new species. Fei Liang died in Chengdu on 4 June 2022. Megophryidae
Megophryidae, commonly known as goose frogs, is a large family of frogs native to the warm southeast of Asia, from the Himalayan foothills eastwards, south to Indonesia and the Greater Sunda Islands in Maritime Southeast Asia, and extending to the Philippines. Fossil remains are also known from North America. it encompasses 246 species of frogs divided between five genera. For lack of a better vernacular name, they are commonly called megophryids. Morphology The megophryids are notable for their camouflage, especially those that live in forests, which often look like dead leaves. Mount Emei (; zh, c=峨眉山, p=Éméi shān, O2-mei2 shan1), alternatively Mount Omei, is a mountain in Sichuan Province, China, and is the highest of the Four Sacred Buddhist Mountains of China. Mount Emei sits at the western rim of the Sichuan Basin. The mountains west of it are known as Daxiangling. A large surrounding area of countryside is geologically known as the Permian Emeishan Large Igneous Province, a large igneous province generated by the Emeishan Traps volcanic eruptions during the Permian Period.
