Meet The Richardsons
''Meet the Richardsons'' is a British comedy television series that premiered on 27 February 2020, on Dave. It stars comedians Jon Richardson and Lucy Beaumont as fictionalised versions of themselves discussing their lives in a mockumentary format. Various comedians and celebrities make appearances, usually also as fictionalised versions of themselves. In August 2020, it was announced an 8-episode second series would screen in 2021, with two Christmas specials broadcast in December 2020. A third series began broadcasting in March 2022. In May 2022, a further two series were commissioned, with the announcement that Manchester based company King of Sunshine Productions would be the new television company responsible for making the show. Mockumentary
A mockumentary (a portmanteau of ''mock'' and ''documentary'') is a type of film or television show depicting fictional events, but presented as a Documentary film, documentary. Mockumentaries are often used to analyze or comment on current events and issues in a satirical way by using a fictional setting, or to parody the documentary form itself. The term originated in the 1960s but was popularized in the mid-1990s when ''This Is Spinal Tap'' director Rob Reiner used it in interviews to describe that film. While mockumentaries are comedy, comedic, pseudo-documentary, pseudo-documentaries are their dramatic equivalents. However, pseudo-documentary should not be confused with docudrama, a fictional genre in which dramatic techniques are combined with documentary elements to depict real events. Alex Brooker
Alexander James Brooker (born 15 May 1984) is an English journalist and presenter best known for his television work with Channel 4. Since 2012, Brooker has co-hosted ''The Last Leg'', a Channel 4 panel show with Adam Hills and Josh Widdicombe as well as co-presenting Channel 4 ski jumping show '' The Jump'' with Davina McCall in 2014. Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall
Hugh Christopher Edmund Fearnley-Whittingstall (born 14 January 1965) is an English celebrity chef, television personality, journalist, food writer, and campaigner on food and environmental issues. Fearnley-Whittingstall hosted the '' River Cottage'' series on the UK television channel Channel 4, in which audiences observe his efforts to become a self-reliant, downshifted farmer in rural England; Fearnley-Whittingstall feeds himself, his family and friends with locally produced and sourced fruits, vegetables, fish, eggs, and meat. Susan Dent (born November 1964) is an English lexicographer, etymologist and media personality. She has appeared in "Dictionary Corner" on the Channel 4 game show '' Countdown'' since 1992. Bernie Clifton (born Bernard M. Quinn, 30 April 1936) is a British comedian and entertainer, known for his work with his orange ostrich puppet costume Oswald the Ostrich. Early life Clifton was born on 30 April 1936 in St Helens, Lancashire, where he also grew up. He left grammar school without any qualifications at 15 and became an apprentice plumber.
