This is a list of media in the Mobile, Alabama metropolitan area. Radio Television Mobile is served locally by several television stations: WPMI 15 (NBC), WKRG 5 ( CBS), WALA 10 (FOX), and WFNA 55 ( CW). The regional area is also served by WEAR 3 (ABC) and WJTC 44, an independent station (both based in Pensacola, Florida), and by WFGX. WBLX-FM (92.9 MHz, "93BLX") is an American urban contemporary music-formatted radio station that serves Mobile, Lower Alabama, and Pensacola, Florida. The station has served the Gulf Coast for more than 25 years. Owned by Cumulus Media, its studios are on Dauphin Avenue in Midtown Mobile, and its transmitter is near Robertsdale, Alabama. Chickasaw, Alabama
Chickasaw is a city in Mobile County, Alabama, United States. As of the 2020 census the population was 6,457, up from 6,106 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Mobile metropolitan area. History Company town In the early 20th century before the city now standing was incorporated, the present site of Chickasaw was a company town, wholly owned by Chickasaw Shipyard and developed for its workers. The property was bought by Gulf Shipbuilding Corporation in 1940. It expanded with the defense buildup during World War II. WLVM (98.3 FM) is an American radio station licensed to serve the community of Chickasaw, Alabama, and broadcasting to the Mobile metropolitan area. The station is owned by the Educational Media Foundation. Programming WLVM began broadcasting a Christian Contemporary music format branded as " K-LOVE" on July 15, 2012. WNTM (710 AM) is a talk radio station based in Mobile, Alabama. The station calls itself "News Radio 710." WNTM is owned by San Antonio-based iHeartMedia and the broadcast license is held by iHM Licenses, LLC.
