''Meanwhile'' is the third studio album by German synth-pop trio Camouflage (band), Camouflage, released on 26 March 1991 by Metronome in Europe and Atlantic Records in North America. Unlike Camouflage's earlier albums, and most of their later work, ''Meanwhile'' features more 'organic' instruments like real drums and guest musicians playing conventional instruments. However, this change brought with it controversy, and Marcus later said that if they had been given advice against the change in style, things may have gone differently. Two singles were released from ''"Meanwhile'': "Heaven (I Want You)" and a double a-side of "This Day" and "Handsome". "Heaven (I Want You)" charted at number 57 in Germany. ''Meanwhile'' is the twenty-second solo studio album by Eric Clapton. It was released on 4 October 2024 through Bushbranch Records/Surfdog Records. Along with six new tracks, the album also features eight songs Clapton has previously released as singles beginning from 2020, including collaborations with Van Morrison and Jeff Beck. Background This record marks Clapton's first studio album since '' Happy Xmas'' in 2018, and his first non-holiday studio album since '' I Still Do'' in 2016. The artist worked on the album for three years in tandem with British musician and frequent collaborator Simon Climie, who serves as a producer on the entire album and also appears as a featured artist on the track "How Could We Know". The album consists mostly of Clapton's single output starting from December of 2020. ''Meanwhile EP'' is an extended play by English virtual band Gorillaz, released on 26 August 2021. The EP was released as a celebration of Notting Hill Carnival in London, England, an annual event that was cancelled in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Background On 29 June 2021, Damon Albarn revealed in an interview with NME that Gorillaz was working on new "carnival-themed music", saying that their upcoming record would return to the band's roots. On 10 August 2021, Gorillaz debuted three new songs, "Meanwhile" (featuring British rapper Jelani Blackman), "Jimmy Jimmy" (featuring British rapper AJ Tracey), and "Déjà Vu" (featuring Jamaican singer Alicaì Harley), during a free concert at The O2 Arena in London, England exclusively for National Health Service employees and their families. "Meanwhile" is a song written by Justin Hayward that was released on the Moody Blues 1981 album ''Long Distance Voyager''. Although never released as a single, it reached #11 on the ''Billboard'' Mainstream Rock chart. Recording "Meanwhile" was one of the first songs recorded for ''Long Distance Voyager'', in February and March 1980. Hayward originally prepared the basic track in his home studio.
