Cumilla City Corporation () is a local governing body that administered all civic services in the city of Comilla, Bangladesh. The city corporation government is elected by popular vote every five years. It is headed by a mayor, who presides over 36 councillors. It follows The City Corporation Act, 2009 and derives most of its powers from it. The corporation covers an area of over 53.84 square kilometers in the Comilla District. The body was known as Comilla Municipality previously, until it obtained the city corporation status by a ministry of local government declaration on 10 July 2011. Arfanul Haque Rifat
Arfanul Haque Rifat (1957/1958 – 13 December 2023) was a Bangladeshi Awami League politician who was the 2nd mayor of Comilla City Corporation. Rifat served as the general secretary of Comilla city unit Awami League from 2017 until his death. Career Rifat joined the Chhatra League in 1976 and became president of its Comilla city unit after two years. He also served as a senior vice-president of the district unit of Jubo League. Tahseen Bahar Shuchona is a Bangladeshi politician and the third mayor of Cumilla City Corporation. A physician by profession, Suchona is the first female mayor of Cumilla City. She represents the Bangladesh Awami League. Early life and education Suchona was born to A. K. M. Bahauddin Bahar and Meharun Nassa. Monirul Haque Sakku
Monirul Haque Sakku is a Bangladeshi politician and the first and former mayor of the Cumilla City Corporation as a candidate of Bangladesh Nationalist Party. On 19 May 2022, he was expelled from BNP for breaching party discipline and again joined BNP in 2023. He was pourashva mayor before 2012. He has a daughter, Sunzida Haque.
