Maura Visser
Maura Visser (born 1 June 1985) is a Dutch handballer who plays as a playmaker for SG BBM Bietigheim. She competed at the 2010 European Women's Handball Championship, where the Dutch team placed eighth, and Visser was listed among the top ten goalscorers of the tournament (scoring 36 goals). European Handball Federation
The European Handball Federation (EHF) is the umbrella organisation for European handball. Founded on 17 November 1991, it is made of 50 member federations and two associated federations (England and Scotland), and is headquartered in Vienna, Austria. History EHF was founded on 17 November 1991 in Berlin, Germany, although the first EHF Congress convened on 5 June 1992 and assigned EHF's headquarters to Vienna, Austria from 1 September that year. Helle Thomsen
Helle Thomsen (born 30 November 1970) is a Danish handball coach and former player, who is the current head coach of Neptunes de Nantes. Previously she was head coach for FC Midtjylland Håndbold between 2012 and 2016, and the Sweden women's national handball team, Swedish national team between 2014 and 2015 alongside Thomas Sivertsson. Between 2009 and 2012, she served as assistant coach to Niels Agesen in TTH Holstebro and assistant coach to Kenneth Jensen and Ryan Zinglersen in FC Midtjylland. As a player, she won silver and bronze medals in the Danish handball championship. As a head coach, she has won the Danish championship twice, the Danish Handball Cup once and the EHF Cup once. In addition to that, she led FC Midtjylland to the Final Four tournament in the 2013–14 EHF Women's Champions League, 2013–2014 Champions League season. 2011 World Women's Handball Championship
The 2011 World Women's Handball Championship was the 20th edition of the international championship tournament in women's Team sport handball that is governed by the International Handball Federation (IHF). Brazil hosted the event from 2–18 December 2011. On 18 December 2011, Norway successfully contested France 32–24 in the final. Norway was the second team to achieve a triple title cache all in the same tournament by winning the World Championship, European Championship and Olympic Games titles. Denmark had made this achievement previously. France lost, its second consecutive World Championship final (2009), to Russia. Norway automatically qualified for the 2012 Olympic Handball tournament and 2013 World Championship. When Norway vacated their European Championship and that tournament's second place team, Sweden, automatically qualifying for the Olympics. 2010 European Women's Handball Championship
The 2010 European Women's Handball Championship was held in Denmark and Norway from 7–19 December. It was the first European Championship hosted by two countries. Norway won their overall 5th gold medal, when they defeated first time finalist Sweden in the final. Romania claimed the bronze medal. Venues Three Danish and two Norwegian cities have been selected to host the 2010 Championship. The venues in Aalborg, Aarhus and Larvik were only used during the preliminary round. The fourth venue to be used in this round is located in Lillehammer, and was also one of the two venues in the main round.
