''Matt's Million'' was a children's programme broadcast in 1996 on CiTV. It was written by author Andrew Norriss who had created many children's shows such as ''Bernard's Watch'' and '' Woof!''. It starred Peter England as Matt and Claire Parfitt as Claire. Only four episodes were produced. CITV (short for Children's ITV, also known as the CITV Channel) is a British free-to-air children's television channel owned by ITV plc. It broadcasts content from the CITV archive and acquisitions, every day from 6 am to 9 pm which was previously 6 am to 6 pm until 21 February 2016. It is also the title of a programming block on the ITV (TV network), ITV network at weekends. Andrew Norriss
Andrew Norriss (born 1947) is a British children's author and a writer for television. Background Andrew Norriss was born in 1947. He was educated at St John's School, Leatherhead followed by University at Trinity College Dublin (1966–70). After teaching at Stroud School, Romsey he trained for his PGCE at University of Winchester from 1973 to 1974, then taught History at Peter Symonds College, Winchester from 1974 to 1985. Whilst teaching he started writing television sitcoms and children's comedy dramas with Richard Fegen. He now lives in Hampshire with his wife, and writes children's books. Writing Norriss won The Whitbread (Costa) Children's Book Award (1997) for his children's book ''Aquila'', which he wrote both as a book and as the ''Aquila'' series for the BBC. Bernard's Watch
''Bernard's Watch'' (informally known as ''Bernard'' in the reboot series) is a British children's drama series about a young boy who could stop time with a magical pocket watch. The show was created by Andrew Norriss and was produced for seven series that aired on CITV from 14 November 1997 to 31 March 2005. History The concept of the show originally formed the basis of one of the most famous episodes of '' The Twilight Zone'', entitled "A Kind of a Stopwatch", first broadcast in 1963. In 1991, Alexander John Howard conceived of a series based on the same concept but it took six years to get funding. The show eventually began as a single 15-minute episode, however it was suggested it could work as a series. Woof!
''Woof!'' is a British children's television series produced by Central Independent Television about the adventures of a boy who shapeshifts into a dog. It was based on the book by Allan Ahlberg. It was directed by David Cobham with the screenplay by Richard Fegen and Andrew Norriss who novelized the second, third and fourth series as ''Woof! The Tale Wags On'', ''Woof! The Tale Gets Longer'' and ''Woof! A Twist in the Tale'' respectively. History The show was first broadcast in 1989. It starred Liza Goddard as teacher Mrs Jessop. Edward Fidoe played Eric Banks, the boy who turned into a dog (played by Pippin from ''Come Outside'') of the same name. It also starred Thomas Aldwinckle as Eric's best friend Roy Ackerman, and later Sarah Smart as his new best friend Rachel Hobbs, who moves into Roy's old house. Windsor Davies
Windsor Davies (28 August 1930 – 17 January 2019) was a British actor. He is best remembered for playing Battery Sergeant Major Williams in the sitcom '' It Ain't Half Hot Mum'' (1974–1981) over its entire run. The show's popularity resulted in Davies and his co-star Don Estelle achieving a UK number one hit with a version of "Whispering Grass" in 1975. He later starred with Donald Sinden in '' Never the Twain'' (1981–1991), and his deep Welsh-accented voice was heard extensively in advertising voice-overs. Early life Davies was born on 28 August 1930 in Canning Town, East London, to Welsh parents. In 1940 they returned to their native village of Nant-y-moel, Bridgend. Alan Halsall
Alan David Halsall (born 11 August 1982) is an English actor, best known for portraying the role of Tyrone Dobbs in ''Coronation Street'', a role he has played since 1998. Early life Halsall was brought up in Walkden, Salford and attended Walkden High School. Tyrone Dobbs is a fictional character from the British ITV soap opera ''Coronation Street''.
