Massimo D'Ambrosio
Massimo D'Ambrosio (born 5 June 2003) is a professional Australian rules footballer with the Hawthorn Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL), after being initially drafted to the Essendon Football Club. Early career D'Ambrosio began his football journey with the Point Cook Football Club, his talent was earned him four WRFL junior best and fairest awards in six seasons. He won twice as a under 11 (2013, 2014), again as under 12 (2015) and finally as a under 15 in (2018). He was selected for the Western Jets development program and later became a top up player in case of Covid protocols in 2022. He displayed his elite kicking while starring for the Young Guns, with high possessions games in successive weeks. The left-footer has a penetrating run and carry style of game. Western Region Football League
The Western Region Football League is an Australian rules football semi-professional league, based in the western suburbs of Melbourne, for both seniors and juniors. History The league was formed in 1931 as the "Footscray District Football League". During the 1950s, the VFL club Footscray was financially backing the competition, so they decided to bar clubs that were inside the zone. This resulted in six clubs leaving. More changes occurred in 1952 as the league decided that clubs had to provide an under-18 competition; this action reduced the club numbers down to twelve. The next initiative was the introduction of an under-16 competition in 1954. The Western Jets is an Australian rules football club which plays in the Victorian premier U19 competition, the NAB League, since its inception in 1992. The club have developmental squads in the U16, however much of the attention is towards its U18 team. The club is geographically set in Melbourne's West as part of a decision by AFL Victoria (formerly Football Victoria) to have clubs in all regions of the state.
