Maryland Eastern Shore Hawks Football
The University of Maryland Eastern Shore Hawks (commonly UMES and also known as the Eastern Shore Hawks) are the fifteen sports teams representing the University of Maryland Eastern Shore in Princess Anne, Maryland in intercollegiate athletics. These include men and women's basketball, cross country, indoor track, outdoor track, and tennis; women's sports include bowling, softball, and volleyball; men's sports include baseball and golf. The Hawks are members of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) in most sports, with other memberships in the Eastern College Athletic Conference and Northeast Conference. The Hawks compete in the MEAC for all sports except baseball, men's golf, and women's golf, in which they compete as Northeast Conference members, and additionally in the ECAC for cross country, track and field and bowling. It is classified among "Research Colleges and Universities". It was established as Delaware Conference Academy. It has also been known as Princess Anne Academy and other names during its evolution. 2008 NCAA Bowling Championship
The 2008 NCAA Bowling Championship was the fifth annual tournament to determine the national champion of women's NCAA collegiate ten-pin bowling. The tournament was played in Omaha, Nebraska during April 2007. Maryland–Eastern Shore defeated Arkansas State in the championship match, 4 games to 2, to win their first national title. Qualification Since there is only one national collegiate championship for women's bowling, all NCAA bowling programs (whether from Division I, Division II, or Division III) were eligible. Emerson Boozer
Emerson Boozer (born July 4, 1943) is an American former professional football player who spent his entire career as a running back for the New York Jets in the American Football League (AFL) and National Football League (NFL). In the last year of separate drafts by the AFL and the NFL, Boozer signed with the AFL's Jets, rather than with an NFL team. He was a member of the Jets team that defeated the NFL's champion Baltimore Colts, 16–7, in Super Bowl III. Before joining the AFL, Boozer played college football at University of Maryland Eastern Shore, Maryland State College, which is now the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES). The Fresno State Bulldogs are the intercollegiate athletic teams that represent California State University, Fresno (commonly referred to as Fresno State). The university is a member of NCAA Division I's Mountain West Conference (MW). It was a member of the Western Athletic Conference from 1992 until 2012, when it left for the Mountain West alongside fellow WAC member Nevada. The Omaha Mavericks are the sports teams of the University of Nebraska Omaha. They participate in the NCAA's Division I and in the Summit League, except in ice hockey, where they compete in the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC). The Fairleigh Dickinson Knights refer to the 17 intercollegiate sports teams representing Fairleigh Dickinson University's Metropolitan campus in Teaneck & Hackensack, New Jersey.
