Marwan Charbel (; born 1947) is a retired Lebanese brigadier general and the former minister of interior and municipalities between 2011 and 2014. Early life and education Charbel was born in 1947. He entered the military academy in 1968 and graduated as a lieutenant in 1971. Then he obtained a bachelor's degree in law from Lebanese University in 1981. Career Charbel served in various units of the Internal Security Forces. Then he became a major general in the Internal Security Forces. He was the advisor of caretaker interior minister Ziyad Baroud. Abd al-Malik ibn Marwan ibn al-Hakam (; July/August 644 or June/July 647 – 9 October 705) was the fifth Umayyad caliph, ruling from April 685 until his death in October 705. A member of the first generation of born Muslims, his early life in Medina was occupied with pious pursuits. Mohamed Ashraf Abu El Wafa Marwan, known as Ashraf Marwan ( 2 February 1944 – 27 June 2007), was an Egyptian official who worked as a spy for the Israeli Mossad. From 1969 on, Marwan worked at the Presidential Office, first under Gamal Abdel Nasser and then as a close aide to his successor, Anwar Sadat. In the lead-up to the Yom Kippur War in 1973, Marwan provided crucial information to Israel. In the 1980s, Marwan moved to London, where he became an arms dealer. Merwan Rim (born 13 July 1977 in Sarcelles, France) is a French actor and singer-songwriter. Biography At the age of 17, Merwan Rim started to learn and instruments as an autodidact. Realizing his gift in musical arts, Merwan decided to become a full-time musician. This decision led him into quitting Paris 13 University where he attended communication studies to enroll in Alice Dona Studios, a performing arts school for future professionals in September 2000. Marwan Yousef Mohamed Rashid Lekrab al-Shehhi (; 9 May 197811 September 2001) was an Emirati terrorist hijacker from al-Qaeda who served as the hijacker-pilot of United Airlines Flight 175, crashing the Boeing 767 into the South Tower of the World Trade Center (1973–2001), World Trade Center as part of the September 11 attacks.
