Martin Kelly (footballer)
Martin Ronald Kelly (born 27 April 1990) is an English professional footballer who currently plays as a defender for Championship side Wigan Athletic, on loan from West Bromwich Albion. Kelly began his career at hometown club Liverpool, making 62 appearances across all competitions from his debut in 2008, and winning the League Cup in 2012. In 2014, he transferred to Crystal Palace for a fee of £2 million. On the 1st September 2022 he signed for West Bromwich Albion on a free transfer. He played two minutes for England in a friendly against Norway on 26 May 2012, making him the England player with the shortest international career. He was an unused member of their squad for UEFA Euro 2012. Martin Kelly (born 17 July 1965, RAF Akrotiri, Akrotiri and Dhekelia) is a musician, music manager, record label boss, music publisher and author. Best known as Jeff Barrett's partner at Heavenly Recordings, a British independent record label run by the pair between 1993 and 2009. Early years Kelly was born in Cyprus, the son of an RAF Squadron leader Michael "Manx" Kelly, who would later go on to form the Rothmans aerobatic display team. The family relocated to the UK when his father was posted to Bomber Command in 1968, Kelly grew up near Princes Risborough in Buckinghamshire. The death of his father in May 1976 and the advent of punk rock profoundly affected him, and by the late 70s he was obsessed with music and had begun playing guitar and bass in various school bands. In 1983, aged 17, Kelly formed a new group Episode Four with his brother Paul Kelly, Johnny Wood and Spencer Smith. Martin Kelly (born 5 December 1989) is an Irish former rugby union player. He played as a prop and represented Dublin University in the All-Ireland League before joining Munster. Munster Kelly joined Munster from Dublin University at the beginning of the 2014–15 season. In June 2015, it was announced that Kelly would be leaving Munster.
